McMinnville Arts Festival

Art Works  invites artists to apply for and participate in the McMinnville Arts Festival (MAF)  in 2026.  MAF is a commission -free art sales and artist focused event that is held in the Historic downtown of McMinnville in conjunction with Mac Fresco, an open-air celebration of food, wine, art and local flavor.  Third Street closes to cars and opens to people creating a pedestrian-friendly promenade where you can sip, eat, shop and stroll your way through downtown.

Important Dates for 2026:


  • April 3rd, 2026 – Final Application deadline
  • April 10th, 2026 – Notification of jury results by email.  Please make sure Art Works has your up-to-date email information.  If you haven’t received any correspondence from us by April 14th, please check your spam folders.
  • April 24th, 2026 – Commitment deadline for all accepted artists.   Art Works must receive a signed exhibitor’s contract and booth fee payment by 5:00pm on this date

Applications:


Applications are open to creators of quality fine art and hand-crafter of small batch products made in the USA by the artisan selling their works.


Images must represent the work you plan to offer for sale at the festival. Include a range of your work and a range of prices. Choose clear images with good lighting that may be used on our website and social media.  Choose images of your work that clearly show your creative, artistic and technical skills. Plan your booth to be visually appealing, well-designed, and organized in a professional manner that reflects the quality of your work. Booth appeal is considered in the jury process.  Please include a description of your work that is complete enough for us to use on our website and on our social media.


Submit 3 to 5 digital images in jpg format; 1920 pixels on longest side; 72 file size under 5mb; resolution 72 to 300 DPI of your work that represent what you plan to bring to the festival, plus one of your outdoor booth.  


Submitted images are juried anonymously, so please be sure your name or business name does not appear anywhere in your photos, including your booth photo.  Artwork is scored on a scale of 1 – 5 for quality, creativity, originality, and craftsmanship.  MAF has final discretion regarding acceptance to the event.


  • CERAMICS/POTTERY:  All original clay work is acceptable in this category. No machine-made or mass-produced work is permitted. Painted greenware is not eligible. 
  • DIGITAL ART: Artist must provide specific details about their technique and disclose their creative process and print processing which includes digital & Giclee reproductions of 2D art for prints and cards.  No “AI” modified or generated work is allowed 
  • DRAWING: Original works created by the artist’s hand and executed in pencil, charcoal, chalk, pastels, pen, ink, etc.
  • FIBER: All work crafted from fibers including basketry, embroidery, weaving, tapestry, leatherwork, batiking and papermaking. No machine tooling, machine-screened patterns, or other forms of mass production are permitted.
  • FIBER – WEARABLE: This category includes all items that are worn or used for adornment.
  • GLASS: Original works only. No mass production work is permitted.
  • GOURD ART: Original hand-tooled, machine-worked, or carved work, with or without applied decorations.
  • JEWELRY: All jewelry, whether the work is produced from metal, glass, clay, fiber, paper, plastic or other materials, must be entered in this category. No more than 15% of a piece may consist of commercial findings, and no commercial casts, molds or production studio work is allowed.
  • METALWORK: Functional or sculptural original works created through the forging, twisting and fabricating of various metals including copper, steel, pewter or other metals.
  • MIXED MEDIA: Includes 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional work that incorporates more than one type of material. This includes handmade book binding and book making.
  • PAINTING: Original compositions created by the artist’s hand in oil, acrylic, watercolor, tempera, encaustic, etc.
  • PHOTOGRAPHY*:   Prints made from the artist’s original image must be processed by the artist or under artist’s direct supervision. Photographers are required to disclose both their creative and printing process, especially with regards to any manipulation.
  • PRINTMAKING: Hand-pulled original prints that are signed and numbered in limited editions by the artist.
  • SCULPTURE: Three-dimensional original work done in any medium.
  • WOODWORK: Original hand-tooled, machine-worked, turned or carved work.
  • RECYCLED ART: Original works created from reclaimed or repurposed materials that are significantly transformed by the artist. Acceptable materials include wood, metal, plastic, textiles, paper and found objects. Mass produced items that are only lightly altered are not permitted. Work must show clear craftsmanship and artistic intent.


*Note: MAF does not accept AI-generated photos for submission. Only photographs captured and edited by humans without the use of AI algorithms or any other form of artificial intelligence are eligible for entry. 


Standards and Rules:


  • Artists in all fine arts and fine crafts categories are welcome to apply.
  • Artists must be at least 18 years old.
  • Artists and collaborators or authorized representatives must be present during all show hours, all days and show only their own work in the category in which they are accepted.
  • Artists must be accepted in multiple media categories to show more than one category of art in their booth.
  • Artists cannot exhibit or sell subcontracted work for another artist. 
  • All artists must go through the jury process
  • All artists must have their booths set up and operational by 10:00 am Saturday, July 18, 2026.
  • No animals will be allowed in the booths except service dogs. 
  • All exhibited products must be for sale and must be original work crafted by the participating artist.
  • Limited reproductions of the original art are acceptable. 
  • All work exhibited must be of the quality and category that were shown in the images submitted with the application.
  • Artists are responsible for appropriate insurance, the security of their belongings, and protection of work and display. MAF will not be responsible for damage to work or display due to weather or any unrelated incidents.


Note: A map will be included with the artist booth contract.


EXHIBIT FEE

•  10x10 space Art Alliance Yamhill County (AAYC) member $200

·  10x10 space non - AAYC member $300


BOOTH SPACE

Each exhibitor will be provided a space measuring from 10’x10’ (larger booth spaces available). Artists are to provide their own display booth, racks and/or tables in order to display their work in an outdoor environment. Display Grid Wall Rentals are available on a limited basis.


BOOTH SET-UP

A schedule of set-up times will be sent upon receipt of contract. 


SALES

Artists retain all revenue from the sale of their work. There is no commission taken by MAF There is no sales tax in Oregon.


Application fees are non-refundable. 


If an artist who has confirmed participation and paid a booth fee cancels on or before Friday, June 1, 2026, 5:00 p.m. PST, MAF will issue a refund for the booth fee, minus a $75.00 administration fee. If an artist cancels after June 1, 2026, 5:00 p.m. PST no refund will be given.
