Governance and Transparency

Introduction

The Arts Alliance of Yamhill County is committed to responsible governance, transparency, and ethical stewardship in support of our mission to strengthen arts and culture across Yamhill County. As a volunteer led nonprofit organization, we take our responsibilities to our community, members, artists, donors, and partners seriously.


This page outlines how the organization is governed and how decisions are made.


Board of Directors


The Arts Alliance of Yamhill County is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. The board provides strategic direction, financial oversight, and fiduciary responsibility for the organization.


Board members serve without compensation and are expected to act in the best interests of the organization and the community it serves.


The Board of Directors is responsible for:

  • Mission and strategic planning
  • Financial oversight and accountability
  • Policy development and review
  • Executive and organizational leadership
  • Community trust and ethical standards


Committees


The work of the Arts Alliance of Yamhill County is supported by standing and ad hoc committees made up of board members and volunteers.


Committees focus on specific areas such as programs, education, communications, fundraising, and community engagement. Committees make recommendations to the board and operate within board approved guidelines.


Transparency and Financial Stewardship


The Arts Alliance of Yamhill County is committed to responsible financial management and transparency.


Funds raised are used to support programs, operations, and initiatives aligned with our mission. Financial decisions are reviewed by the Board of Directors, and the organization complies with all applicable nonprofit reporting and regulatory requirements.


Conflict of Interest


Board members and key volunteers are expected to disclose any potential conflicts of interest and act in a manner that prioritizes the interests of the Arts Alliance of Yamhill County. Decisions are made with integrity and in service to the mission.


Ethical Conduct


The Arts Alliance of Yamhill County maintains high standards of ethical conduct. Board members, volunteers, and representatives are expected to engage respectfully, act responsibly, and represent the organization accurately and honestly.


Fraud and Scam Awareness


The Arts Alliance of Yamhill County does not request gift cards, reimbursements, or donations through text messages, private emails, or direct messages from individuals.


Official fundraising efforts are communicated through our website, formal mailings, newsletters, and established Arts Alliance of Yamhill County channels. Any message claiming to be from AAYC leadership or representatives requesting money outside these channels is not legitimate.
